From GByte to GBite:

Back in 2020 I created Gbyte to be a robot character to help me navigate and promote my work online. After a few physical changes, I began to use her character to also help me draw art and concepts when I had gone through emotional moments and occasionally drew her design to become more evil and scary. Those drawing were what I personally represented my mental health with, however this also caused me to add a backstory as to why she appeared that way. From a regular robot, she became an organic robot alien species. Her family escaped her home planet to avoid a virus that corrupted civilization, causing the infected to lash out and change physical features. Gbyte has been able to hide it and live normally on earth with friends and family, but still occasionally had moments where she was not entirely ok. As I myself had gone through the healing process of my mental health, So did Gbyte. In 2023, her design changed from two separate versions of the same alien robot, to one singular alien design. In real life, she represented my growth and acceptance of my mental well-being, but her lore had changed completely to being just a regular alien who came to earth. No corruption, just good vibes. On Halloween of 2023, I came up with a fun design for my profile picture and played around with the idea of Gbyte being a different being of sorts, like the grim reaper or a demon. Thus, the creation of GBITE was brought to life! I had always wanted an overpowered character, and my younger sibling and I bonded over the interaction our characters had and collaborated on a story to bring the final concept together. The human versions of our characters were once two humans who were caught in the path of a powerful being in search of a new host. This being was the ruler of the underworld, whose name is unknown, but the ruler appeared before them as a giant monster of sludge, who melted and destroyed the bodies of their host after a certain time due to the unstable pressure and force of it all. However, this time the host had infected two bodies instead of one, thus balancing the power between the two. Gbite became the new ruler of the underworld, whereas their sibling became the prince, next in line to take over. Gbite is normally about 60ft tall, while Ebite is still their human size. Both siblings are able to morph their bodies to use to their advantage in fights or intimidation. They both have wings and tendrils that appear at will, and magic that makes them nearly unstoppable. They are also able to go back to earth and live amongst humans using the amulets they wear around their neck, that repress their forms to last for months when activated. The most recent designs now have hair and different features, some argue resembling dragons! Regardless, the story remains the same. GBite went from a simple robot mascot, to a super powerful character my sibling and I created just for fun.
